Join a network of passionate educators! As a Kumon franchisee, you join a community of over 300 peers across Australia and New Zealand, who celebrate each other’s achievements and learn from one another. They share knowledge and experience for the benefit of all, and forge long-lasting friendships. Throughout 2023, Kumon franchisees participated in monthly workshops and seminars. They also attended local branch conferences to catch-up and learn from one another in person. In this article, two Kumon franchisees share what the branch conference meant to them. **Kristine Zamora, Kumon Mount Druitt Education Centre, NSW** Kristine is coming up to her fifth year as a Kumon franchisee. She sees events such as conferences, workshops and seminars as not only learning opportunities, but also as an effective mechanism for relationship building. “With relationships being the backbone of Kumon, I think that coming into conferences are a really vital element of being a franchisee”, Kristine says. “When you are in a conference, you meet fellow franchisees whose values resonate with your own. You can pick the brains of franchisees who have made it very successful for their business, for their franchise, and for the community. It gives you an insight into how you can be a better franchisee”. “I think conferences are a vital element of Kumon and being a franchisee”. Kristine says that conferences help reinvigorate franchisees. She feels motivated after attending these events. Like Kristine, Dee finds value in the relationship building and exchange of ideas that occurs at events such as the branch conferences. Dee also views these events to be a part of the wider support she receives through the Kumon franchise network. “It's nice to see your peers, to see what challenges they're facing, how they're overcoming them, and learning new things. “I think that the overall Kumon franchise network has really good support for the franchisees”, Dee says. “This is my first fourth franchise business, and I can see there's a lot more support here than in other franchises. Franchisors usually are policing, whereas Kumon is supporting you to succeed”.
